Featured Post: What It Means to be a Student at UPEA
Original in Spanish - Que es ser Estudiante de la Universidad Publica de El Alto (UPEA)
Translation in Aymara - UPEA Jach’ yatiqañ utanx kunjamas yatiqirïña.

When I registered at this university, my only objective was to graduate to become a professional in service for my people. I write this note for all the blog readers to say that the UPEA has its strengths and it is not how many people think in negative manner
I have seen the latest posters that the university offers its services saying “The UPEA prioritizes scientific investigation in all of its knowledge fields that favors the popular classes and nations.” I well remember when they created the university to educate the youth of El Alto and of the provinces because there was a lot of discrimination in the UMSA towards the students that came from different provinces.
Being in this university I feel very comfortable because I know that after a few years it will be the best university because we have the principles of our ancestors (Aymara and Quechua). The knowledge will bloom from this part of the city of El Alto towards the rest of the world.
